Project Basecamp

About the Project

“Project Base Camp” facilitates short and long-term volunteer housing no matter
the level of disaster or outreach needed.
Containing private bunkrooms, bathroom facilities, and a communal kitchen and living area for teams to gather, Project Base Camp is a self-sustaining housing solution that can operate across the state, Gulf South Region, and country, giving teams and partner organizations the security and confidence to respond to any disaster situation.

What We Have Learned

Infrastructure is key. It’s not easy to say yes to sleeping on the floor of a church and showering in a stranger’s home. It’s not easy to work all day and wonder what’s for dinner. While serving regardless of the housing arrangements is the calling of a few, the reality is people unfortunately are not knocking the doors down to participate in this kind of relief effort.

Solution

Just like when our team serves abroad WOTS aims to serve as the “host home” stateside during outreach and disaster response. We have designed a mobile housing solution that will facilitate volunteer teams. Basic needs like sleeping arrangements, food, fellowship, and rest are often overlooked as the needs of the disaster become priority. Our goal is to make it easy for your volunteer team to say “yes” to serving other while we serve them.
